Karrier One and Iridium Partner for IoT Connectivity to Remote Locations
Karrier One, a provider of decentralized telecom infrastructure, has signed an MOU with Iridium to integrate Iridium NTN Direct℠ IoT services into the Karrier One platform.
The collaboration extends Karrier One’s footprint beyond remote communities into areas entirely beyond the reach of terrestrial mobile networks. By leveraging Iridium’s low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, IoT deployers will be able to connect devices, sensors, and critical monitoring equipment anywhere on Earth without the need for local base stations.
Key benefits of the integration will include:
Instant global reach for narrowband IoT devices across land, sea, and air.
Zero infrastructure requirements, allowing deployers to focus on applications instead of towers.
Resilient machine-to-machine (M2M) communications for mission-critical sectors such as maritime, energy, and environmental monitoring.
Native integration with Karrier One’s APIs and platform.
The MOU will be followed by a bilateral agreement covering technical integration and commercial rollout. Both companies have framed the partnership as part of a shared vision of a world where connectivity is no longer limited by geography.
