Greenland’s Tusass Aims for Resilient Connectivity with Eutelsat Partnership

Tusass, Greenland’s national telecom operator, has signed a multi-year strategic agreement with Eutelsat to expand use of the OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) network, enabling secure, low-latency connectivity across the country’s remote and sparsely connected regions.

The partnership will deliver services spanning community broadband, maritime and mobility connectivity, emergency response, and critical infrastructure support. For Greenland, where extreme geography and climate hinder terrestrial coverage, the polar-orbiting OneWeb constellation provides seamless high-latitude coverage and proven resilience in Arctic conditions.

Tusass CEO Toke Binzer said the agreement strengthens the company’s ability to meet diverse national needs, from everyday access to sovereign-grade communications infrastructure. Cyril Dujardin, President of Connectivity at Eutelsat, highlighted the growing role of LEO in Arctic and European strategies for resilience, redundancy, and sovereignty.

The deal underscores how LEO is becoming central to digital inclusion and critical infrastructure protection in remote regions, with Eutelsat positioning itself as a trusted partner for sovereign connectivity.
