Viasat Confirms Launch of Ultra-High-Capacity ViaSat-3 F2
Viasat has confirmed the successful launch and signal acquisition of its ViaSat-3 Flight 2 (F2) satellite, the second in its ultra-high-capacity Ka-band constellation. The satellite lifted off aboard a ULA Atlas V551 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station this week.
Now in its orbital transfer phase, ViaSat-3 F2 will provide broadband connectivity services across the Americas, supporting commercial mobility, fixed broadband, and defense markets. The new satellite is designed to double the total bandwidth capacity of Viasat’s existing global fleet and introduce flexible, software-defined bandwidth allocation, enabling capacity to be dynamically directed to areas of highest demand.
Following solar array deployment and relocation to its final geostationary orbital position, ViaSat-3 F2 will undergo extensive in-orbit testing and network integration, with commercial service entry expected in early 2026.
