Tele2 First Swedish Operator to Launch Satellite IoT Connectivity

Tele2 IoT has announced the launch of its new Global Satellite IoT Connectivity service in partnership with Skylo, becoming the first Swedish operator to offer a commercial, standards-based Direct-to-Device satellite IoT solution.

The service integrates Skylo’s 3GPP-compliant Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) technology, allowing IoT devices to automatically switch between terrestrial and satellite networks. This ensures continuous connectivity for industries such as agriculture, logistics, energy, infrastructure, and maritime, even in the most remote locations.

“At Tele2 IoT, we believe connectivity should work everywhere,” said Stefan Trampus, EVP B2B at Tele2. “By partnering with Skylo, we’re removing the final coverage gaps and making global IoT simpler and more reliable.”

Skylo’s Simon Glassman added: “This partnership brings the world’s largest commercial satellite network to Tele2’s customers, enabling new business models and use cases powered by NTN connectivity.”
