Space42 and Cobham Satcom Complete Thuraya-4 User Terminal Portfolio

Space42 and Cobham Satcom have announced the completion of the full portfolio of advanced user terminals for Thuraya-4, Space42’s next-generation geostationary mobile satellite, strengthening its push into Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) mobility services.

The new terminals claim to deliver broadband-grade L-band connectivity (>1 Mbps) across government, defense, maritime, humanitarian, and commercial markets, leveraging Thuraya-4’s 3GPP LTE-based architecture. The portfolio reinforces L-band’s role as a resilient, complementary layer to terrestrial networks, particularly in remote, disrupted, or contested environments.

The lineup spans comms-on-the-pause and comms-on-the-move systems, including backpack, vehicular, and maritime terminals.
