Soracom and Skylo Announce Availability of Integrated Satellite IoT Connectivity

Soracom has announced the general availability of its integrated satellite IoT service with Skylo, moving from a limited preview to full commercial rollout. The service is now live for customers in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania, allowing IoT devices to seamlessly switch between cellular and satellite networks under one platform.

The integration gives Soracom users access to Skylo’s 3GPP-compliant NTN connectivity without requiring special antennas or modems. Devices can roam onto satellite as easily as they do between terrestrial networks, managed centrally via the Soracom Connectivity Management Platform (CMP).

Key features include:

  • Unified billing and usage management

  • Over-the-air provisioning of Skylo coverage

  • Satellite-optimized communication APIs

  • Seamless cloud integration

  • Private networking, peering, and protocol optimization

  • New AI-powered tools for IoT operations

The service is already in use with Delphire, a wildfire detection company whose remote Sentinel systems depend on resilient connectivity in hard-to-reach areas.
