OQ Technology and KPN Partner for Global 5G IoT Coverage

OQ Technology, the Luxembourg-based satellite 5G NTN operator, has signed a roaming agreement with Dutch telecom provider KPN, extending 5G IoT connectivity beyond terrestrial networks to cover land, sea, and even the Polar regions.

The deal allows KPN customers to roam directly onto OQ’s LEO satellite constellation, complementing KPN’s existing terrestrial and GEO satellite services. By adding LEO coverage, the partnership aims to overcome the limitations of GEO networks, particularly in high-latitude and obstructed environments where connectivity often fails.

By combining terrestrial, GEO, and now LEO assets, the partnership positions KPN to offer more resilient, sustainable, and reliable connectivity to customers operating far beyond conventional network reach.
