Myriota Launches World’s First Commercial 5G NTN Built for IoT

Myriota has announced the launch of HyperPulse™, the world’s first commercially available 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) engineered specifically for IoT, a step toward ubiquitous, standards-based connectivity for remote assets and sensors worldwide.

HyperPulse enters General Availability on 15 December, going live first in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Australia, where early customers in environmental monitoring, oil and gas, asset tracking and agriculture are already using the service through Myriota’s Early Access Program. Coverage across Europe, Southeast Asia and additional Latin American markets will follow in early 2026.

HyperPulse combines Myriota’s 3GPP-compliant 5G NTN architecture with L-band capacity leased from Viasat, allowing the service to tune performance, such as latency and throughput, based on demand and operating environment. It is designed as a highly scalable, global platform that enables developers and solution providers to deploy IoT applications with predictable performance, even in locations well beyond terrestrial coverage.

HyperPulse joins Myriota’s existing UltraLite™ service, which focuses on extreme energy efficiency for ultra-low-power IoT nodes. While UltraLite serves the smallest, most battery-constrained devices, HyperPulse is optimized for IoT solutions that require richer sensing, faster reporting and higher payload volumes.

Target applications include:

  • Tracking and telemetry for railcars, trailers, heavy equipment and containers

  • Utility smart metering

  • Weather, soil, air and water quality monitoring

  • Agriculture and livestock management, including virtual fencing and remote health monitoring

Built on 3GPP Release 17 and 18 NTN specifications, HyperPulse interworks with a growing ecosystem of NTN-capable modules. Myriota recently completed certification of Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF9151 for use on HyperPulse, with more device certifications underway.

To accelerate adoption, Myriota is also launching the HyperPulse Developer Kit—a rugged, battery-powered field test platform with integrated sensors, interfaces and a weatherproof enclosure, designed to simplify prototyping and proof-of-concept deployments.
