MDA Space Acquires SatixFy

MDA Space is set to acquire satellite communications innovator SatixFy in a US$269 million all-cash deal, marking a bold move to vertically integrate cutting-edge space chip technology and strengthen its end-to-end satellite systems.

With the acquisition of SatixFy's radiation-hardened chipsets, beamforming tech, and over 60 patents, MDA gains serious digital satellite muscle just as the market shifts from analog to software-defined constellations. The move brings in skilled employees and a rich R&D legacy, while aligning with MDA’s Aurora™ LEO/MEO platform strategy.

The acquisition, expected to close in Q3 2025, positions MDA at the forefront of next-gen satellite broadband and direct-to-device innovation.
