Lynk and Omnispace Merge to Build Global Direct-to-Device Network

Two pioneers in satellite-to-phone technology, Lynk Global and Omnispace, have today announced plans to merge, aiming to create a comprehensive Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity venture.

The combined company will bring together Omnispace’s globally coordinated 60 MHz S-band spectrum and regulatory assets with Lynk’s patented low-cost multi-spectrum satellite technology, capable of connecting standard smartphones and IoT devices without new hardware.

Space solutions company SES will join as a major strategic shareholder, integrating its multi-orbit infrastructure and global ground systems to accelerate service rollout and scale.

Together, the three companies aim to deliver a 3GPP-compliant, multi-orbit NTN platform offering global, cost-effective connectivity across mobile, IoT, automotive and government markets.

The merger is expected to close by early 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
