GSMA’s GLOMO Awards 2026 Highlight Momentum Behind NTN Innovation

The Global Mobile Awards (GLOMOs) shortlists are in the process of being unveiled, and we can share the nominees for Best Non-Terrestrial Network Solution, in a list that underscores accelerating industry investment in satellite-enabled connectivity.

The shortlist:

• China Telecom and Huawei for smartphone direct-to-GEO satellite connectivity

• Qualcomm for its Snapdragon W5+/W5 Gen 2 wearable platforms

• Sateliot for standardized 5G IoT and direct-to-device LEO services

• Skylo Technologies for bi-directional satellite messaging and NTN connectivity for wearables

• VEON and Kyivstar for deploying Starlink direct-to-cell services in Ukraine

The shortlist reflects how NTN is moving rapidly from concept to commercial deployment spanning smartphones, wearables, and IoT as operators and vendors race to extend coverage beyond terrestrial networks.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony during Mobile World Congress Barcelona, March 2-5.
