Globalstar Half Way Toward Its $2B ITU Connectivity Pledge
Globalstar has crossed the halfway point of its $2 billion Partner2Connect pledge, investing more than $1 billion to expand and modernize its global satellite infrastructure. The funding supports both replenishment of Globalstar’s current constellation and the rollout of its third-generation C-3 system, which will deliver higher-capacity, more resilient mobile satellite services designed for broadband, IoT, enterprise, government, and consumer applications.
The company has also advanced its global ground segment, announcing 14 new ground station projects across 8 countries and 4 continents, strengthening coverage and service reliability. The C-3 system, spanning both space and ground infrastructure, forms the backbone of Globalstar’s next phase of growth.
CEO Dr. Paul E. Jacobs said the progress demonstrates Globalstar’s long-term commitment to expanding secure, ubiquitous connectivity, particularly in underserved regions. The investment program remains on track to meet ITU’s implementation timeline, with Globalstar engaging Member States during the upcoming ITU WTDC in Baku.
