Avanti Taps Türksat for GEO Satellite Connectivity in Southern Africa

UK-based satellite operator Avanti Communications has signed a strategic partnership with Turkey’s national satellite operator, Türksat, to expand broadband access across Southern Africa, with a particular focus on underserved regions.

Under the agreement, Avanti will lease additional capacity on Türksat 5B, a high-throughput geostationary satellite, extending its coverage footprint and reinforcing the long-standing collaboration between the two operators. The deal addresses growing demand for reliable GEO connectivity across enterprise, government, and community networks.

The collaboration forms part of Avanti Everywhere, the company’s new suite of flexible GEO services, and aligns with both partners’ strategy to bridge connectivity gaps and strengthen regional telecom infrastructure. By pooling satellite capacity and operational expertise, Avanti and Türksat aim to accelerate digital inclusion and enable new enterprise and national-scale services across the region.
