Arabsat Taps Actia for Next-Gen Q/V-Band Gateway Infrastructure

Arabsat has selected Actia Aerospace to design and deploy a new generation of Q/V-band RF gateway systems for its future software-defined geostationary satellite, ARABSAT-7A.

The contract covers two geographically separated gateways to improve resilience, capacity, and routing flexibility. The infrastructure will underpin managed broadband services as well as enterprise, mobility, maritime, aviation, and government applications across Arabsat’s coverage area.

The gateways are a core element of Arabsat’s transition from traditional GEO architectures to software-defined, high-throughput satellite systems, enabling dynamic service allocation and more efficient spectrum use.

Actia Aerospace will deliver an end-to-end solution, including system design, deployment, testing, commissioning, training, and long-term technical support. The agreement was signed during Arabsat’s 17th Telecom Forum in Bahrain.
