Amazon Unveils Gigabit-Speed “Ultra” Antenna, Previews Leo Enterprise Program
Amazon Leo, its satellite initiative formerly known as Project Kuiper, has revealed Leo Ultra, its highest-performance enterprise terminal to date, offering up to 1 Gbps downlink and 400 Mbps uplink, making it the fastest commercial phased-array antenna currently in production. The rugged, all-weather terminal is built around Amazon’s custom silicon and RF design, enabling full-duplex operation, low latency, and seamless integration with enterprise networks.
The company is also launching an enterprise preview program, allowing select partners across aviation, energy, logistics, agriculture, and telecom to begin real-world testing of Leo’s LEO broadband network. Early participants include JetBlue, Vanu, Hunt Energy Network, Connected Farms, and Crane Worldwide Logistics.
Amazon Leo will offer secure, private networking options including Direct to AWS, enabling direct cloud connectivity via Transit Gateway or Direct Connect Gateway, and Private Network Interconnect (PNI) for carrier and enterprise data centers. With more than 150 satellites already in orbit and initial network tests underway, Amazon is positioning Leo as a high-capacity, enterprise-grade LEO system targeting remote operations, real-time monitoring, secure field communications, and cloud-first workflows.
A broader commercial rollout is planned for 2026 as Amazon ramps new satellites and ships more Leo Pro and Leo Ultra terminals.
