AccelerComm Raises $15M to Power 5G from Space, Taps New CEO

UK-based AccelerComm has secured $15 million to fast-track its 5G satellite technology, enabling direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity from space. The round was led by IP Group and includes backing from IQ Capital, Swisscom Ventures, and Bloc Ventures.

Alongside the funding, satcom veteran David Helfgott (formerly SmartSky, Inmarsat, SES) steps in as CEO to drive global growth.

With satellite-mobile convergence accelerating and a growing market projected to hit $100bn within a decade, AccelerComm is aiming to become the backbone of space-based 5G.
