Türkiye’s Plan-S Adds Four IoT Satellites
Plan‑S has deployed four more of its Connecta Internet of Things (IoT) satellites into low Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX Twilight mission, lifting its active constellation to 16 spacecraft.
The new satellites increase capacity for Plan-S’s NTN-based IoT services, which provide low-power, global connectivity for devices operating beyond the reach of terrestrial networks. The company said it handled the full mission lifecycle in-house, from design and manufacturing through testing and integration, underscoring its emphasis on domestic capability aligned with Türkiye’s National Space Program.
From a non-terrestrial networks perspective, the expansion strengthens Plan-S’s position as an emerging regional IoT constellation operator, combining satellite connectivity with ground infrastructure and data analytics via its Connecta and Observa platforms. A recently signed partnership with Turk Telekom is intended to integrate satellite IoT more tightly with Türkiye’s terrestrial telecom ecosystem.
Plan-S is also pushing international growth, having secured operating licences in several countries and pursuing approvals across the Middle East and Asia, signalling ambitions to compete in the increasingly crowded global satellite IoT and NTN market.
