The countdown is on to MNIS:NTN, a free-to-attend virtual event taking place on 3–4 November 2026, organised by the team from the Mobile Network Innovation Summit. Bringing together leading voices from across the telecoms and satellite industries, the event will explore the opportunities, challenges and commercial realities shaping the convergence of terrestrial and NTN.
In the run-up to the event, we’re going to be taking a closer look at the six sessions which make up the two-day programme, highlighting topics and introducing the industry experts who will be sharing their perspectives. To register visit - https://www.mnis-ntn.com
Session One – NTN Opportunity: How Partnerships Between MNOs and SatCos Are Unlocking New Opportunities
Tuesday 3 November – 14:00–15:00 GMT
The growing convergence of terrestrial mobile and satellite networks has opened-up a new frontier of opportunities. From extending coverage into previously underserved areas to developing new services and revenue streams, partnerships between mobile network operators (MNOs) and satellite communications companies (SatCos) are becoming an increasingly familiar (and important!) part of the connectivity landscape.
The opening session of MNIS:NTN, will include representatives from two major mobile operators, a satellite communications provider and one of the world’s leading telecoms industry analysts.
Introducing the speakers:
· Michael Thompson, Head of Mobile Access Strategy, Virgin Media O2 (VMO2)
· Hyungmin Ha, Vice Director, Advanced Technology Engineering, Rakuten Mobile
· Ram Viswanathan, Chief Strategy & Corporate Development Officer, Elveo
· Mike Dano, Lead Industry Analyst, Ookla
With the markets for direct-to-device connectivity, hybrid network models and satellite-enabled mobile services continuing to grow in momentum, and real-world deployments coming online all the time, this session promises a timely discussion about the next phase of terrestrial–satellite convergence.
MNIS:NTN takes place online on 3–4 November 2026, and registration is free. Sessions will also be available on demand after the event, so registered attendees can catch up on any discussions they cannot join live.
