Geespace Expands GEESATCOM Constellation

Chinese commercial aerospace firm Geespace has completed the fourth orbital deployment of its GEESATCOM, or Geely Constellation, adding 11 satellites from a single launch off the coast of Rizhao, Shandong Province.

The GEESATCOM network, developed and operated entirely by Geespace, underpins satellite IoT services and inter-satellite communications for a wide range of applications, from intelligent connected vehicles and marine fisheries to emergency communications, infrastructure monitoring, and environmental observation. This latest deployment brings the constellation from 30 to 41 satellites, with plans to reach 64 within two months to enable near real-time global data coverage, excluding the poles.

Geespace is positioning the network for worldwide commercial IoT services, supported by strong performance in proof-of-concept trials that achieved a 99.15% communication success rate and 99.97% network availability. The company is building partnerships with telecom operators in more than 20 countries, focusing on the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In Malaysia, a joint venture with local operator ALTEL is tailoring GEESATCOM services for maritime, agriculture, transportation, and energy markets—an initiative that has drawn interest from senior government leaders.
