floLIVE and Skylo Combine Cellular and Satellite IoT Connectivity in Brazil
floLIVE and Skylo Technologies have introduced an integrated connectivity service in Brazil that combines terrestrial cellular networks with satellite-based IoT coverage, targeting enterprises operating devices across both urban and remote areas.
The service allows compatible IoT devices to use conventional cellular connectivity where available and switch to Skylo's non-terrestrial network in locations with limited or no terrestrial coverage. Brazilian floLIVE partners iuh! Digital and NLT will offer the combined service to customers, with potential applications including agriculture, logistics, utilities, transport and industrial operations.
floLIVE already provides multi-network cellular connectivity in Brazil through two national cellular services, supported by its distributed core network and IoT management platform. Adding Skylo provides a satellite extension intended to improve geographic reach and resilience while allowing deployments to remain under a common connectivity-management framework.
Skylo's NTN is based on 3GPP standards and supported by commercially available chipsets and modules, allowing compatible IoT equipment to access satellite connectivity without dedicated satellite terminals. The company says its network is licensed in 41 countries and carries traffic for more than 20 mobile operators.
