ETL Systems Acquires Amphinicy to Strengthen Satellite Ground Segment Portfolio
ETL Systems has acquired Croatian satellite software specialist Amphinicy Technologies, expanding its capabilities beyond RF hardware into software-defined satellite networking, monitoring and 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) infrastructure.
The acquisition combines ETL's RF and digital hardware portfolio with Amphinicy's software products, including the Monica monitoring and control platform, the Blink wideband software modem, and ongoing development of ViSAGE, a virtualised 5G NTN Gateway-as-a-Service platform. Together, the companies aim to offer customers a more comprehensive ground segment solution as satellite networks become increasingly automated, virtualised and software-defined.
Amphinicy will continue to operate independently within the ETL Systems group, maintaining its existing management team, customer relationships and vendor-neutral approach. The company will also continue developing ViSAGE, which is intended to support virtualised 5G NTN gateway deployments, while benefiting from ETL's international reach and investment.
The acquisition reflects the beginnings of a broader consolidation within the satellite ground segment industry, where vendors are increasingly combining hardware, software and network management capabilities to support emerging markets such as 5G NTN, Earth observation, defence, government communications and next-generation satellite networks.
