BWS IoT and Sateliot to Bring Hybrid Terrestrial–Satellite IoT to Brazil

Brazil’s BWS IoT has partnered with Sateliot, the Spanish operator behind the world’s first 3GPP-compatible NB-IoT LEO constellation. The collaboration will enable BWS IoT’s tracking devices widely used in vehicles, logistics, and agribusiness to switch seamlessly between terrestrial networks and Sateliot’s satellites, keeping assets connected even far beyond mobile coverage.

The deal is part of Sateliot’s Conecta Brasil LEO NTN program, aimed at accelerating next-gen IoT adoption across the country, where as much as 80% of the territory still lacks reliable cellular coverage.

By using the same SIMs and hardware for both mobile and satellite links, the companies promise a low-cost, scalable path to nationwide (and eventually global) coverage. Initial deployments in 2026 will target agriculture and cargo transport sectors where remote-area visibility remains a critical challenge.

Both companies say the partnership marks a milestone toward a seamless global IoT ecosystem and opens the door for future applications in environmental monitoring, infrastructure oversight, and asset management across some of the world’s hardest-to-reach regions.
